Woman of the Week | Reem Abou-samra




Reem Abou-samra is a Muslim, Arab, second generation Syrian-American. She is an activist, an oral historian, a spoken word artist, and a mother to two daughters. She has a doctorate in Political Science and a Masters in Near Eastern Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit. She started writing poetry in third grade - and has been performing spoken word for over 18 years. You can purchase Reem's poetry collection Fractured: Between Truth and Lies on sale through Amazon.
