Woman of the Week: I'Sha Schultz-Spradlin

I’Sha received a BA from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in 2023. She moved to Detroit 2 days after graduation after falling in love with the city doing research on the start of the bankruptcy and calls herself a Native Detroiter by heart.

She has 10 years of grant writing and fundraising experience, 6 years of experience as a platza practitioner and 2 years experience as a bodyworker/LMT. I’Sha worked as front desk staff/manager and a platza practitioner in a local bathhouse for 6 years. I’Sha is the only Black Woman to practice the art of the platza as it is a traditional Russian practice in a very white male dominated industry. In her free time, she tends to her farm where she raises ducks for eggs and spends time with her family as a Mama of 2.

Other information: Black Moon Bathhouse is in the process of raising $300k through Founding membership opportunities for the bathhouse with their rewards-based crowdfunding page on IFundWomen

This funding will complete our financial stacking package with our lender to start construction on our location in the McDougall-Hunt neighborhood on the Eastside of Detroit.
