Alma Cruz is a Supplier Diversity Specialist with Barton Malow Builders, a Michigan-based construction company that makes a commitment to inclusion of diversity. Her job is to engage diverse business owners, develop equitable opportunities, and support inclusion practices on construction projects.
Her passion to empower the minority-owned sector of builders persists from her previous role at the Southwest Detroit Business Association.
She similarly supported diverse business owners to gain capacity to rebuild Detroit. She believes in the prosperity of small businesses and financial power of a populous.

Her mission is to create safe spaces, stimulate creativity, and promote local commerce. She hopes to continue the success of staple MPC events, including the 58th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade and Fiesta that attracts upwards of 10,000 spectators taking place on May 5-7, 2023.
Alma also volunteers with the Delta Tau Lambda Sorority, Inc. - Alpha Lambda Professional/Graduate Chapter where she performs as the elected President. This non-profit organization delivers health resources and awareness of afflictions most impacting their communities.
They further seek to create opportunities for academic excellence and professional exchanges. They hold fundraisers to support core charitable causes: Breast Cancer, Diabetes, AIDS Awareness, and Mental Health.
As women of action, they organize, host, volunteer, and participate in all their events; most notably, the 3rd annual Cinco de Mile 5K Fun Run for Mental Health Awareness on May 5, 2023.
